Tara Glick, Owner
Tara brings over a decade of pastry and hospitality experience to Brix Haus. The vision for Brix Haus stemmed from her love of ice cream and desire to share that pure, simple joy with others. As a pastry chef, she often got asked what her favorite thing to make was and the answer was always immediately and unequivocally ICE CREAM!
Tara was born and raised in New Jersey. She has a business degree from Boston University and a Classic Pastry Arts degree from the International Culinary Center in NYC. She gained professional experience working in top kitchens like Locanda Verde and Maialino. In 2012, Tara joined the opening team at American Cut in Atlantic City and continued to open locations in Tribeca and Midtown. During her tenure with American Cut, her whimsical desserts and baked goods earned media attention from New York Magazine, NJ Monthly, and NBC New York. Prior to opening Porter, Glick took some time away from the kitchen to learn the beverage side of the restaurant industry.
Prior to opening Brix Haus, she brought her restaurant vision to life at Porter, located in Weehawken, NJ. Opened in December 2020, Porter received rave reviews from customers and critics alike. NJ Monthly said of the desserts, "No matter how you build your bite, it's hard to go wrong. Which is Porter in a nutshell." Tara & her partner made the difficult decision to close Porter in October 2022.
